SMH Half Marathon 2010

Over the weekend Scott Endurance athletes' Marijke Ralph, Carolyn Dews, Michelle Wells, Cathy Tulloh, Steve Newman and myself Ed Birchall, braved the cold start for the SMH Half Marathon in Sydney. The conditions were perfect for racing with clear skies and little wind.

With a narrow start and over 10 000 starters, it was quite slow going to the line after the gun was fired. Eventually I made my way through and started my 21.1km with a fast downhill section to Circular Quay.

Byron Bay Triathlon

Scott Endurance athletes Alex Ball and Erin Hargraves made the trip north to take on one of the final races on the 2009/10 triathlon calender, the Byron Bay Triathlon. It is usually a very strong field, as many professional athletes use the race as a warm up before heading to the northern hemisphere for their summer. Ball placed 7th in the 25-29 age group and 22nd overall, in a time only seconds over the elusive 2 hour mark. Hargraves placed 5th in the 25-29 age group and 16th female overall. Both athletes having very strong run legs in hot conditions.
